Homelessness Prevention
Preventing homelessness before it starts, we offer families the resources to overcome unexpected setbacks and stay housed.
Few things are more disruptive for a family than the threat of eviction or the loss of their home. At Tedford Housing, we know that preventing homelessness before it starts is one of the most effective ways to address the crisis. Unexpected events—like a costly car repair or a medical emergency—can push even the most stable households to the brink of eviction. Our Homelessness Prevention Program is designed to help households stay in their homes and avoid the trauma of homelessness.
How We Help:
Personalized Case Management: Our dedicated Homeless Outreach and Prevention Coordinator works directly with individuals and families to assess their unique situations and create a plan for maintaining housing.
Financial Assistance: In partnership with local community agencies, and as funding allows, Tedford can provide financial assistance for past-due rental payments or security deposits, helping prevent eviction and secure stable housing.
Access to Resources: Our Homelessness Prevention staff connects families to vital services, such as employment assistance, financial education, local food pantries, and legal aid, to address the root causes of housing instability.
