Winter Warming Center

Our community’s response to winter is simple: open the doors, welcome our neighbors, and keep them safe.

When winter arrives in Maine, freezing temperatures create life-threatening risks for neighbors who are unhoused or unsheltered. Tedford Housing’s Overnight Winter Warming Center provides a safe, low-barrier space where individuals, families, and pets can escape the cold overnight. Located at 1 Tenney Way in Brunswick, the Warming Center opens its doors from November 15, 2025 through April 30, 2026, offering warmth, rest, and dignity each evening from 4:00 PM – 8:00 AM.

The Warming Center is a crucial extension of Tedford’s mission to help people move from homelessness to home. When shelter beds are full, it ensures that no one in our community is left outside in dangerous conditions. Beyond simply keeping people warm, it serves as a place of safety and connection, where staff and volunteers can help guests stabilize and connect to other essential resources.
