From homelessness to home.

Tedford Housing is a nonprofit organization based in Brunswick, Maine, dedicated to empowering individuals and families to move from homelessness to home. Through our comprehensive programs, we work to prevent homelessness, provide safe emergency housing, and offer long-term solutions. By offering support, resources, and stability, we help our neighbors transition to permanent housing, stabilizing our community one household at a time.

Our Programs

    Emergency Shelter

    We provide immediate, safe housing for individuals and families experiencing homelessness, ensuring they have a secure place to stay while they work toward stability.

    Our program offers financial assistance and resources to individuals and families at risk of losing their homes, helping them avoid crisis before it starts.

    We offer long-term housing solutions with on-site case management for individuals and families who have previously experienced homelessness, helping them maintain stability and independence.

    Warm Thy Neighbor

    This initiative provides emergency heating assistance to low-income households in need, ensuring they have the resources to stay warm and safe during Maine's cold winter months.

Our Impact in FY24

Tedford Housing made a significant impact in our community, supporting hundreds of individuals and families on their journey to stability and housing security:

  • 121 adults and family members found safety in our emergency shelters.

  • 13,383 bednights were provided across our adult and family shelters.

  • 76 individuals and family members lived in our Permanent Supportive Housing units.

  • 301 individuals and family members were served through Homelessness Prevention and Outreach programs.

  • 284 individuals and family members received heating assistance through Warm Thy Neighbor.

  • 5,840 meals were provided by our dedicated Meal-a-Month volunteers.
