Race the Runways 2027

A Midcoast tradition takes flight again.

Race the Runways is back!

Saturday, May 8, 2027 · Brunswick Landing, Maine

Once a beloved Midcoast running tradition, this unique race returns to Brunswick Landing with a Half Marathon and 5K. For one morning, the runway belongs to the runners. (The planes will have to wait.)

Whether you're training for your next race, looking for a new challenge, returning to a race you remember, or just want to see what it's like to run on a runway, Race the Runways offers a course and setting you won't find at your average road race.

For the community we call home

Race the Runways is organized by Tedford Housing, and every registration supports work happening right here in the Midcoast.

For many of our neighbors, housing stability rests on a narrow margin. An unexpected car repair, a missed paycheck, a rent increase, or a heating bill that arrives at the wrong time can be enough to make an already difficult situation feel impossible. When there is little room in the budget, even a small setback can have lasting consequences.

Tedford has expanded its work to meet that need. Today, we help more people across our community than ever before through a continuum of services designed to meet people where they are: preventing homelessness and helping households stay housed, providing emergency shelter for adults and families, supporting people living in permanent supportive housing, and helping neighbors stay safe and warm through the winter.

This is work rooted in this community, for this community. It means helping a family avoid losing their home before a crisis becomes an eviction. It means having a safe place to turn when there is nowhere else to go. It means supporting someone as they move into permanent housing and build stability that lasts.

When you register for Race the Runways, you're helping strengthen that safety net for your neighbors.
